The topic of dementia is becoming increasingly important, as the rising life expectancy of people also leads to a continuous increase in the number of dementia-related illnesses. Currently, over a million affected individuals live in Germany. If science does not achieve therapeutic successes in the future, the number is expected to double by the year 2050. In this context, the question of optimal care for this group of individuals becomes particularly relevant. This book initially explores the various facets of dementia-related illnesses, serving as a practical guide. Special attention is given to aids for coping with life. Subsequently, the different options for care and support are presented, examining whether these have a positive effect on individuals with dementia.
