Joy of Life – the new competency-oriented teaching material for religious education in primary schools. In the biblical-Christian tradition, joy of life is a gift from God (cf. Psalm 4:8). It reflects God's affirmation of humanity. People are invited to accept and shape this gift. This lived joy generates community-building impulses that can, in turn, release further joy. Students are to be introduced to and engaged in this cycle of joy of life. All chapters of the textbook follow the common theme of "Joy of Life." The concept of "rejoicing" is expressed in Volume 1/2 through successful and fulfilling life (e.g., the chapter "Being Mindful"), in a fulfilled life (e.g., the chapter "Saints"), and in a gifted and blessed life (e.g., the chapters "Creation," "Journeying Together – Tobias and Rafael") with a sense of being.
