One purpose of this book is to assist the reader in overcoming these difficulties. It provides an elementary presentation primarily focused on the technical mechanics of rigid bodies and rigid systems, with special consideration given to practical needs, while also emphasizing a systematic approach. Beyond the usual material of a mandatory lecture in this field, additional sections have been included that allow students to become acquainted with certain concepts and methods they need to at least somewhat read the relevant literature. For example, the treatment of a simple boundary value problem in the dynamics of chains and ropes, the projection methods of spatial vectors onto a plane according to Major and Mises, and the derivation of Lagrange's equations of motion.
