Gernot Böhme's new book introduces the nature that we ourselves are into the current discourse on nature. "Body" does not refer to the human body as an organism nor to its nature in the sense of an essence. The body is given to humans through the movements and needs that arise within them; they can seek it out through bodily awareness. This concept of nature has implications for ethics and aesthetics: a person can only make autonomous decisions if they are grounded in their body, and ecological aesthetics is not a continuation of traditional nature aesthetics, because the environment is neither an object nor a view, but rather that in which we exist.
