Historical novels and non-fiction books, fantasy films, and the presentation of Celtic finds in large museums and opulent exhibitions have significantly revived the memory of that unique European culture of the Iron Age. Their culture, which emerged around 800 BC from Bronze Age roots and was characterized by brilliant craftsmanship, left behind a wealth of subtle traces. This book can elevate the often dramatically exaggerated representations of the Celtic past in Central Europe found in literature and films to a realistic level.
