Using Esperanto in conversation - this goal is achieved quickly with the present textbook. Similar to how children acquire language, you will learn in complete sentences from (preferably engaging) conversations what you typically need when interacting with other Esperanto speakers. You will acquire new words from the context of sentences, specifically targeting the 500 most common word roots and an additional 170 from the next 500 most common. Additionally, there are about 100 more, totaling approximately 800. From each word root, you can derive further words through simple changes in endings or by adding prefixes and suffixes, so that by the end, you will have a vocabulary of over 1500 words at your disposal. These can also be found in the textbook in Esperanto-German and German-Esperanto word lists for reference. The lessons include numerous exercises, and there is a solutions section. Grammar is kept in the background, largely emerging directly from the texts. This allows even beginners to form sentences independently right away and ultimately reach language proficiency level A2. Additionally, the textbook provides information on where and when to use Esperanto: local clubs, international meetings and events, as well as tips on resources to specifically expand your vocabulary to over 3500 words to achieve level B1.
