Marcus Müller describes and explains the conflicting goals between construction management and equipment operators, and presents a model that can make predictions about the effects of incentive systems. From the theory and application domain, the author derives requirements to answer the question of how to design incentive systems with the aim of increasing transport performance. His study confirms the experimental and empirical findings regarding the effects of incentive systems and demonstrates that these findings also apply to transport logistics systems in civil engineering. Based on the insights from the simulation, the author derives recommendations for the design of compensation models.
