The author and professor Otto Nüsslin was a German zoologist and forestry scientist. Nüsslin's main research area included the study of forest pests, such as bark beetles, on which he wrote the work "On Normal Swarming Times and Generation Duration of Bark Beetles" in 1882. In 1905, his major work "Guide to Forest Entomology" was published, in which he described harmful forest insects and provided guidance on their control. Starting with the anatomy and physiology of insects, forest behavior, tools for identification, assessment, defense, and eradication of forest insect damage, it culminates in a detailed presentation of specific forest entomology.
