The biblical narrative of Abraham and Sarah is one of the most popular topics in the Old Testament for religious education in schools and community work. This is not surprising, as the story speaks both of trust in fellow human beings—only together do Abraham, Sarah, and their companions manage the long journey—and of trust in God's guidance. Thus, it unites two important guiding principles of religious education in schools. The learning workshop is designed for students in grades 2-3 at elementary schools and grades 4-6 at special needs schools. It intentionally addresses both aspects of the biblical narrative. Students get to know the biblical figures, learn about the nomadic lifestyle, and engage with the theme of trust in their own lives.
