The theme of Vikings holds great fascination for children. Not least due to the children's series and the movie "Vicky the Viking," Vikings are a familiar concept to many kids today. Vikings represent adventure, long and dangerous journeys, discoveries, and much more. Even though the Viking Age is long past (primarily from the 8th to the 11th century), almost every child today knows what a Viking looked like and, above all, believes that Vikings were dangerous and evil people. The goal of this learning workshop is to create a nuanced picture of Viking life. To approach the Vikings from as many angles as possible, the children explore various questions: When did the Vikings live? Were they perhaps not just dangerous? How did they live and where did they dwell? What was family life like among the Vikings?.
