The Lord is my shepherd - phrases like this express our relationship with God in a figurative way. In this workshop, students learn that the Psalms convey human emotions directed towards God. They engage with supplication, thanksgiving, and lament psalms in a playful and creative manner. Emotions, fears, and hopes are particularly expressed in prayer. Therefore, in the second focus of the workshop, students explore prayer. Since one should first find calmness to pray, the children participate in a guided image meditation. As one of the most well-known prayers, students become familiar with the Our Father. A prayer garden crafted by the children themselves completes the material.
