The book by R. Schulmeister combines current research on the evaluation of learning platforms with didactic reflections on their use in virtual teaching, making it a practical guide as well. The first part provides a comprehensive overview of learning platforms, placing particular emphasis on the criteria and methods used to evaluate them. Detailed results of a usability study are presented, in which five learning platforms were subjected to practical testing by 31 projects. The second part explains aspects of didactic design in complex learning systems: How can didactic scenarios be differentiated?
