This book aims to fill existing gaps. All relevant terms of music theory, including chords and functions, are explained in a clear and building manner. It includes a collection of exercises and solutions. Often, music theoretical terms are explained alphabetically or grouped by topics. However, this does not create a coherent, structured context for the reader, which is very important for knowledge acquisition.

The book is aimed at a wide range of readers: school musicians who often face the challenge of presenting fundamental musical concepts simply, clearly, understandably, and correctly; music students who, despite years of theory lessons, do not understand many concepts and therefore cannot apply them, as terms are often memorized in theory classes but rarely explained; musicians who frequently navigate their musical lives with surprisingly little knowledge or understanding. For them too, if one does not understand the fundamental connections, it becomes very difficult to engage confidently with music.
