Archaeology has also uncovered evidence that is even older and tells of the early days of humanity. Knowing the history of one's homeland means understanding one's own identity. This book guides the historically interested hiker to the archaeological sites in the canton of Baselland. It addresses the history of the landscape, the changes in vegetation and fauna, and especially the fundamental aspects of history from its beginnings to modern times. Additionally, the book provides insights into the archaeological research of the canton. It presents 19 hiking routes. A free app for smartphones complements the book and guides the hiker to the sites using GPS.
