Product details
Otto Schwerdt, born in 1923 in Braunschweig, fled to Poland with his family in 1936. In 1943, he was deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp and survived the Holocaust along with his father. His mother, sister, and brother were murdered by the Nazis. Otto Schwerdt, who has lived in Regensburg since 1954, began a few years ago to work through his story of suffering together with his youngest daughter Mascha. The long conversations became the foundation for the jointly written harrowing account.
