An eighty-year-old pastor wishes to visit the Holy Land once more before his death. He is accompanied by his fifty-year-old son, an advertising copywriter, who is now the same age his father was when the son left the family home. Over the past thirty years, the relationship between father and son has hardened, making the journey together a grotesque yet painful, a loving but ultimately helpless attempt to reconcile two fundamentally different outlooks on life. To the son, the father is a tragic figure, while to the father, the son is a modern good-for-nothing. Ultimately, the cool distance and truce can no longer be maintained.
