Max Frisch, May 15, 1911 - April 4, 1991, studied German literature at the University of Zurich (1930-34) and architecture at ETH Zurich (1936-40). From 1931, he worked as a journalist and later as a freelance writer. His numerous trips abroad included a longer stay in the USA in 1951/52. Max Frisch created a significant literary body of work, which has been awarded numerous prizes, including the Georg Büchner Prize in 1958 and the Peace Prize of the German Book Trade in 1976.
