Product details

Documentation of a research project on the reception of photographs in exhibitions. What do others experience in an exhibition, how do they perceive images? The experience of an exhibition remains something wonderfully intimate. Even when we stroll through the softly lit rooms in pairs and pause here and there in front of a large-format photograph, we exchange thoughts only in whispers and struggle to find the right words to express our feelings. Therefore, it is not surprising that the researchers, who focused on this exhibition experience, ventured into relatively uncharted territory. They did so drawing from their backgrounds in media psychology, image studies, and art, employing various, sometimes unconventional methods. Through thorough analyses, they transform the documented, highly heterogeneous experiences into general insights.
