Judo is gaining increasing importance as a fixed component of school sports in Germany. General textbooks that deal with judo are usually unsuitable for use in schools, as they do not adequately address the objectives required in the curricula. This book fills that gap. It provides not only the necessary basic knowledge but also competition and self-defense practices tailored for school use, in conjunction with general and specific rules. Furthermore, the authors offer examples for the practical and written assessment of the skills acquired by students. Judo in school sports is primarily aimed at all teachers who teach this sport, but it is also recommended for all coaches who work with children and youth groups in clubs.
