Water polo is a fascinating sport. It is the only major team sport played in water and falls under the categories of goal, field, and basket games with physical contact. It combines the toughness of rugby with the speed of handball. This book presents a teaching concept for water polo in swimming lessons or training, filled with content, providing organizational tips, and exemplifying a possible five-hour introductory series. Additionally, it includes tests and potential evaluation criteria. To ensure that all inevitable student questions can be answered, supplementary information on the history of water polo, current rules, player positions, and game systems is provided in the appendix.
