This examination of behaviorism has emerged in a radically behaviorist environment. The leading figure of radical behaviorism is Skinner, who aims to explain the behavior of organisms without reference to their inner lives. The study explores the ways out of the resulting contradictions, such as the ideologization of behaviorism by Skinner himself, the softening of the inner life as a tabula rasa by Tolman, the concessions to human complexity by Bandura, and finally the interbehavioral comprehensive approach by Kantor.
