Product details
The writer, landscape architect, and adventurer Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau (1785-1871) created a beautiful park on his estates between 1815 and 1845, modeled after the gardens of Kent. When financial difficulties forced him to temporarily halt work on his landscape garden in the early 1830s, the prince engaged some of the most esteemed painters to complete his garden art, at least on paper. The paintings, accompanied by descriptions of the park, were published in 1834 under the title "Hints on Landscape Gardening." This work has become a classic in the literature of garden and landscape design, and is still highly entertaining today, partly due to the numerous ironic references to the noble contemporaries of the author.
