Product details
The playwright and storyteller Johannes Schlaf (1862 - 1941) is considered one of the most important representatives of German naturalism. The present work is a loosely connected series of prose-lyrical experiences: The "I" of the lyrical monologue captures feelings, perceptions, thoughts, daydreams, and memories in an associatively linked form, thereby creating a kind of consciousness record. As such, this work is one of the most significant testimonies of literary nature enthusiasm at the end of the 19th century. Reprint of the original edition from 1896.
