Product details
The much too young deceased playwright and writer Fritz Stavenhagen takes the reader on a journey through maritime worlds in his short story collection "Gray and Gold." In nine narratives shaped by naturalism, the author provides insight into life by the dike and the sea. The texts, composed with great attention to detail, are explicitly drawn as love stories in some cases, while in others they have regional references or remain in the form of sketches. This early work, as diverse as it is harmonious, offers the reader a good introduction to Stavenhagen's significant oeuvre. Fritz Ernst August Stavenhagen (1876-1906) gained international fame primarily through his popular drama "Mudder Mews." This work is a carefully revised reprint of the original edition from 1904.
