Author Information
The late Richard P. Feynman was the Richard Chace Tolman Professor of Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1965 for his work on the development of quantum field theory. He was also one of the most well-known and beloved figures of the twentieth century, both in physics and in the public eye.
Book Description
"It was essentially an experiment," Richard Feynman said late in his career, reflecting on the origins of his lectures. The experiment proved to be extremely successful and led to publications that have been regarded as authoritative and introductory in physics for decades. From the fundamental principles of Newtonian physics to sophisticated theories such as general relativity and quantum mechanics, Feynman's lectures stand as a monument to clear exposition and deep insight.
