Gerardus van der Leeuw (1890-1950) was a Reformed theologian who played a significant role in the liturgical renewal movement within the Dutch Reformed Church. His numerous publications greatly contribute to the exploration of liturgical themes and the encouragement of reforms in the liturgical life of his church. His "Liturgiek" (1946) is now available for the first time in German translation. In addition to the annotated text, the volume includes a historical-theological introduction and essays by prominent researchers in the field of liturgics and liturgical studies, who provide perspectives on Van der Leeuw's statements from various confessional viewpoints. Even 70 years after its publication, Gerardus van der Leeuw's "Liturgiek" has the potential to enrich both liturgical reflection and concrete liturgical work in today's context in many ways.
