This is a poem about a place, about the past that effortlessly lives in the present, about the imagination that seamlessly transitions into daily life, and about the slow fermentation process beneath the surface in an epicenter that exists within every person. The poems aim to highlight the fragile beauty of our existence, which is insignificantly small within the larger cosmos. Nature is incorporated in a way that represents our alienation and situates humanity within its natural environment. The poems deal with aging, parenthood, family history, memory, connection to home and culture, intimacy, and the place where one feels at home. The green landscapes of Kerala, the monsoon rains, and a family home repeatedly evoke images that the author pursues.
