Leyla and Arif were held in different prisons in Azerbaijan and did not see each other during these two years. Both began to write while in captivity. Arif wrote in his mind, as he was not given any paper. Leyla secretly wrote her notes. The authorities confiscated four of her notebooks, but she managed to take her fifth notebook with her at the end of her imprisonment. This book consists of two parts. The first part, written by Arif, is titled "Records of a Prisoner in Solitary Confinement of the Ministry of National Security." The second part, titled "Do Not Believe, Do Not Fear, Do Not Ask!" was written by Leyla Yunus. She reports on events in Azerbaijan from the late 1980s to the present day. The situation of political prisoners is examined, and an analysis of repression is conducted.
