The study underlying this volume examined the access of adult educators with a migration background (first and second generation) to employment in Austrian continuing education institutions. A critical engagement with the topic of representation - an indicator of recognition, political and social participation - is a focus of this book. Other focal points include the exploration of self and external perceptions of professionals regarding the influence of their migration biographies as well as their multifaceted action strategies in the professional environment. The results, based on survey data and qualitative interviews with migrants and representatives of educational institutions, point to mechanisms of institutional discrimination and the significance of social capital, among other things.
