The small kingdom of Lancre is preparing for a very special Midsummer Night's celebration. However, the clumsily performed ritual by a group of novice witches allows malicious fairies to cross over into the human world, where they intend to seize power. Alongside Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg, the somewhat bored Magrat, who is tired of her princess role, rises to the occasion. And the enchanting Midsummer Night's Dream becomes a bit more tumultuous than originally planned.
