Abandoned castles, decaying factories, or wildly overgrown bunker facilities - these so-called "Lost Places" have gained immense popularity among photographers in recent years. The fascination with these subjects is not solely due to their morbid beauty: the photographers' goal is to preserve the buildings and their former functions from being forgotten. The images strikingly demonstrate how quickly the significance of structures fades once they have been abandoned by humans, and how swiftly nature reclaims that space. For the first time, a photo book is dedicated to the Lost Places in Bavaria. The deserted locations exude charm, tell stories, and despite their decay, they resemble time capsules of a specific era. Captured in images, they take the viewer on an impressive journey to places that can’t be found in any leisure guide.
