One day, in the middle of the Stone Age, strange beings from the sky arrive. They encounter a group of Homo Sapiens. One of the newcomers is injured and is left behind by the others. The injured individual is taken in by the human tribe and lives with them for a time. By chance, the group of humans comes across another group of the strange beings. A shared camp is established. The leaders of both tribes officially prohibit the pairing of humans and the so-called Lotus. The Lotus have a specific task to fulfill, as the ferrymen depend on them. Nevertheless, there is a mixing of the two cultures. It also involves emotions and insights about life. The group of defectors wanders through unknown territories and encounters other nomads. Many thousands of years pass as life goes on, until the group is affected by a mysterious event.
