One night, Marica Bodrozic's father takes her outside in their Dalmatian village. She is still a child, and he points out the stars of the southern sky, explaining the name of each star and that the light from distant galaxies protects everything on Earth: the animals, the trees and plants, and every single person along with their dreams. A poignant moment etches itself deeply into the child. Since then, Marica Bodrozic has looked up at the sky, always searching for the stars, stories, and joys of the south. This essential love remains with her even in rural Hesse, when she leaves the old Yugoslavia forever and moves near Frankfurt. Even when war breaks out in her homeland in the 1990s, she remains unwaveringly loyal to this love. Since then, she has frequently returned to her brutally torn homeland.
