In these 37 stories, Franz Hohler is on a journey. One morning, he decides to hike to the mouth of the river that flows through his hometown and finds himself in front of the dark entrance to a tunnel. He climbs the Eiger, and as he has to leap over a rocky edge, a peculiar shiver overtakes him. It would only be a disaster if he were to fall. He is preoccupied with boundaries and how they can be overcome, and in the process, he unexpectedly keeps arriving at the boundary that is set for our lives.
