Product details
Lucretia Borgia (1480-1519) was the illegitimate daughter of Pope Alexander VI. With the rise of the Borgia family, she became not only a beneficiary but also an instrument of her father's politics, as he married her off three times for political reasons. The Borgias epitomize the greed for power and moral corruption of the Renaissance like no other family. Lucretia Borgia defended herself in her own unique way. Victor Hugo (1802-1885) portrays her as a poisoner, adulteress, and blood traitor.
