Ursulina Schüler-Witte recounts the fifty-six years of shared life and work with her husband and partner Ralf Schüler, who passed away in 2011. The two architects not only planned the ICC Berlin but also approximately one hundred other projects, most of which were realized, primarily in Berlin. This includes, among others, the Steglitz Tower Restaurant, the so-called Beer Brush, the Lichtenstein Bridge at the Landwehr Canal with the memorials for Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, as well as various residential complexes and museum expansions. This book presents a selection of about forty of the projects they built or left unbuilt. The author, as a witness, describes from her personal perspective the planning and development history of these projects, along with the accompanying, sometimes dramatic or peculiar events and challenges.
