The author of "Funny Botany and Mineralogy," Franz Bonn (1830-1894), was a German writer, humorous poet, lawyer, and politician. The versatile Franz Bonn wrote numerous youth publications, stories, plays, opera texts, and poems under various pseudonyms (here: von Miris). He achieved great success with "Funny Natural History" or "Zoologia comica" and with the present volume "Funny Botany and Mineralogy." He also contributed humorous poetic pieces to "Fliegende Blätter" and "Münchener Bilderbogen." Illustrated with 54 black-and-white images. Reprint of the original edition from 1878.
