The dead are rising again. They are hungry and hunting the living. And their numbers are growing. A cop with his daughter, a computer nerd, a garbage man, and an escaped lunatic with a secret. Together, a small group of survivors flees from the hordes of the undead to the prison island of Alcatraz. A secure fortress surrounded by water. However, the group quickly realizes that the rock is still a prison - for alongside the walking dead, the heartlessness of humans shows no mercy either.
