Product details
At the foot of Mt. Fuji, close to Tokyo, lies Aokigahara Jukai. This expansive, densely wooded forest is one of the most beautiful primeval areas in Japan—and one of the most notorious. Since the 1960s, Aokigahara has been considered an unholy magnet for suicides. Police and fire crews constantly scour the forest in search of bodies, as up to 100 people go missing each year. However, authorities believe that the actual number of suicides is much higher, with many cases going undiscovered due to the forest's sometimes impenetrable vegetation. According to legend, these ancient woods are cursed. The spirits of the dead who took their lives here find no peace. When bad weather prevents a group of young adventurers from climbing Mt. Fuji, they decide to set up camp for the night in Aokigahara Jukai.
