When Ralf König brings together "two-legged" and "four-legged" beings in "Tölen," sparks fly. The "can openers," as Al calls his humans, are completely preoccupied with themselves, while the dogs watch with a mix of "ethnological" interest and disgust as the two of them go at each other at all hours of the day and night. In the process, the time for walks is often forgotten, and Roy and Al have to console themselves with the thought that their owners are not exactly house-trained either. However, when Al soon gets the rare chance to father an heir, it turns out that the lady dogs of the better society also lack elegant manners. Ralf König grew up with dogs and knows their quirks in minute detail. The seamless transitions from annoying barking to awkward tail-tucking are equally affectionate.
