The high-caliber paintings and sculptures of the still young Hilti Art Foundation find a worthy new home in Vaduz, in close proximity to the Liechtenstein Museum of Fine Arts. The modestly designed white cube by Morger + Dettli Architects provides an appropriate setting for the outstanding exhibits of the collection: From Georges Seurat and Paul Gauguin to Günther Uecker and Imi Knoebel, the illustrious circle of artists represented in this first-class collection is impressive. Through selected individual pieces, the volume vividly presents the groundbreaking movements of 20th-century art history, from Post-Impressionism and classical modernism to concrete art. The art-historical significance of each treasure is explained in the representative publication through concise texts and illustrated with large-format overall and detail photographs.
