Many families in Sudan prefer to keep their children with Down syndrome indoors to protect them from potential abuse and other concerns. As a result, these children frequently experience poor oral hygiene and malocclusion, highlighting the urgent need for effective oral health promotion and treatment programs. It is essential for oral health authorities to establish school-based dental care programs that are equivalent to those available for typically developing children.
