Product details
Europe is struggling with integration both at its external borders and within its own territories. The question of how we want to live together is becoming increasingly urgent. This work focuses on the Mediterranean island of Malta, where people of different origins come together due to migration movements from Africa to Europe. Their living environments are set in motion as a result: they experience moments of irritation and uncertainty. The study does not pursue the obvious but analyzes the complexity of everyday interactions between locals and newcomers. In doing so, it provides new answers to the question of what is currently happening at the borders of Europe, as well as prompts reflection on how we want to engage with one another in the future.
