Product details
While in many countries sailing ships are considered commercial vessels and therefore must be manned by professional sailors, Germany takes a different approach. Since 1991, traditional sailing ships that primarily serve non-commercial purposes or the training of crews for such ships have had the option to operate as traditional ships. This comes with certain relaxations regarding equipment and crew. These regulations must now comply with international frameworks such as STCW and MOU. This book examines whether and, if necessary, what changes are required in German regulations to meet international standards.
