"You get so alone at times that it just makes sense" is one of the strongest poetry collections from Bukowski's later work. One half of this collection was previously published under the title "Everyone Talks Too Much." Here is now the second part: "Red Mercedes." Direct and clear as ever, he hammers his verses into the world. However, it is noticeable that entirely different, new themes are being addressed: Bukowski increasingly deals with his fears, the passage of time, and the American nightmare. A magnificent collection, and thankfully free from any bourgeois senility.
