The German-speaking philosophy is increasingly interested in the great critic of capitalism. However, there is still a tendency to pit Marx's analysis of the capitalist mode of production against his ethical-critical interventions. There are no conclusive approaches yet on how to deal with the historical-philosophical aspects of his thought and what role philosophy and philosophy criticism play. This book attempts to forge new paths by reconstructing both Marx's polemical relationship with philosophy and his own philosophical perspective from an integrative viewpoint. The aim is to bring together the "scientific" and the "ethical-critical" Marx and to update his social philosophy beyond its historical-philosophical tendencies. Marx emerges as a thinker who has uniquely related philosophy, science, and politics in a socially critical and transformative manner.
