Eros is directed towards the Other in an emphatic sense. In the hell of the Same, which our society is threatening to become, there is therefore no erotic experience. Today's terror of immanence, which turns everything into an object of consumption, destroys erotic desire. It is a fatal characteristic of an increasingly narcissistic society that the Other disappears unnoticed. The society of fatigue, in which one is exhausted by oneself without being able to liberate oneself towards the Other, is a society without Eros.
