Product details

Klossowski, Pierre Pierre Klossowski, born in 1905 in Paris, was a French writer, translator, and painter. He wrote numerous essays, including those on Marquis de Sade and Friedrich Nietzsche, as well as five short stories. His writings influenced many French thinkers, such as Jacques Derrida, Gilles Deleuze, Jean-François Lyotard, and Michel Foucault. Klossowski translated numerous works from German and Latin into French, worked on several films, and illustrated many scenes from his own works as a painter. In the 1930s, he was involved in the content of George Bataille's magazine Acéphale. He died in 2001 in Paris.

Bergfleth, Gerd Gerd Bergfleth, born in 1936 in Dithmarschen, studied philosophy, literary studies, and classical philology in Kiel, Heidelberg, and Tübingen, where he now lives as a freelance writer and translator. Since 1975, he has been the editor of the theoretical works of Georges Bataille, most of which he has also translated and commented on. He has also written numerous essays and lectures, some of which can be associated with the Tübingen critique of reason, dealing with topics such as Marx, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Blanchot, Klossowski, Cioran, and Baudrillard.
