Product details

Denis de Rougemont, born in 1906 in Couvet, Canton Neuchâtel, was a Swiss political philosopher and advocate of European integration. Throughout his life, he was committed to the European idea, notably by drafting the final manifesto at the Hague Europe Congress in 1948, which sparked the establishment of the Council of Europe. One of his most famous works is L'Aventure Occidentale de l'Homme (The Western Adventure of Man, 1957). He passed away in 1985 in Geneva.
