Dogmatics relates the discourse on God both to the tradition as it has become ecclesiastically binding and to the signs of the times as they manifest today. It seeks to speak of God in a credible and human-centered way, as the Christian faith always becomes discursively relevant to contemporary thought. Hans-Joachim Sander presents a new design of dogmatics that addresses this challenge. He explores the statements of the Christian faith from the traditional locations of Catholic theology, as they have been classically formulated in the teaching of "loci theologici," but also with the help of other locations, known as heterotopias. In doing so, he allows foreign locations to speak, whose topology of contemporary life contexts has not previously appeared in dogmatics because it is unfamiliar. However, they are significant for the discourses of faith.
